About Me

Terry on Dead Dog Couloir (Torreys Peak)

I’m a technical recruiter living in Colorado Springs, CO.  While not a native to this great state, I have lived here for for all but 2.5 years of my life.  Colorado is is where I live and it’s where I want to be buried (or have my ashes scattered).  I don’t have any real family, but I greatly value the bonds of friendship that I have forged.

I’m an avid hiker, though I haven’t always been.  I don’t have many regrets in life, but one that I do have is that I didn’t start hiking twenty years ago.  I really only started including hiking as a major part of my life in 2006.  Ever since then, hiking and photography of the landscapes I have been able to see with my own two eyes are more than just activities — they are a passion.  One of my attainable goals is to summit all of the 14ers, Colorado’s peaks that are over 14,000 feet in elevation.  Beyond that, I don’t know.  What I do know is that I want to photograph every corner of this state, so even though I have missed out on twenty years of hiking, I will be doing just that for the next twenty years and beyond.

I created this blog to keep a visual record of my hiking trips that I can share with friends and coworkers. Like my photograpy, it’s a work-in-progress.  If you find yourself browsing to my blog, feel free to leave me a comment in any of my posts.

    Terry,
Thanks for your detailed report on Missouri. I was thinking of climbing it via the same Rockdale route on Sept 11th. While I’ve done a bit of 4 wheeling, I’d have to rent a jeep in Buena Vista and was wondering about the difficulty of the road and the 2 creek crossings? Appreciate your assistance. Chaz

    Terry,
I found your blog searching for a panoramic image of CO14ers. We would like to talk to you about trading some of our bench mark medallions for the right to use one of your images in the new website we are building. Check out mountainclimb.com and then contact us if you are interested. Thanks!
    Betty

    Terry,

I’m nearly ready to go to press with a book about Albert Ellingwood. I’d like to use your photo of Ellingwood Point, crediting you of course. I’m paying to have the book published so I can’t offer you money, but I’d be glad to give you a book or two.

I think I’d crop the photo to eliminate or reduce the size of the two shoulders that appear to dominate the point. The photo would be in black and white.

    Please let me know.

    Jeff Arnold
